Maintenance of Rubber Roof (RV-Armor)

I use a product called 303. I buy it by the gallon and put it on my trailer roof with a mop. Miracle stuff. Actually, I use it on multiple items around my house.
When it comes time to replace my roof, RV armor is high on my list.

I had planned to clean and seal my EPDM roof.... until I read this.

RV Roof Maintenance - How To Prevent RV Roof Leaks

I would like to hear input regarding this article and an EPDM ROOF.

Rv armor

I had my roof done earlier this year by rv-armor. It was May. We have used the trailer 12 times since then and the roof looks great. I do get the ladder out to see if it looks dirty but so far, nothing. Still white and bright. I love it so far and don’t plan on ever getting on the roof again. Rv-armor installer was outstanding.

Had some experience with this. first of all we are all anal and do whatever it takes to maintain our investments. Bottom line is when it comes to roof warranties you need to follow the manufactures specifications to the letter. If you have a dealer do this annually get receipts and even take pictures and file it away. Now if you do it yourself you need to have receipts of cleaning agents, this proves what you actually bought and used and when done take pictures and file all this stuff in a safe place.
I had to put a clame in on my roof on 1 of my first campers I bought in 2002, it was only 2 years old when we had problems and this information was the first they used for and without it they were going to deny the claim and warranty coverage.

Home Depot sells a coating from Henry that's silicone. Its not cheap, close to $250.00 for 4.5 gallons but is guaranteed for life. We had this put on our 2012 Forrest River Surveyor which is supposed to have a vinyl roof. Better safe than sorry.

How does one determine what material the roof membrane is.... I have a 2020 Coachmen Apex Ultralight that I'm ready to clean and prep for the northeastern winter sitting outside. I'd like to know what exactly it is though.

Best roof coating

We always buy Meridian Coating from their website. It costs about 500 and is a superior product that lets you forget about your rubber roof for 15 years. We have all traded for a new one by then.

I was wondering if there is any other protector on the market that lasts longer??

I was looking at an RV-Armor clip on Youtube where they guaranteed the roof for life and that you never have clean you roof again. I was wondering if anyone out there has a RV-Armor roof and what their thought were.

I am presently 72 and I can't see myself applying rubber roof protector every 5 to 6 weeks.
I had a Class C motor home for 20 years before I sold it. All I ever did was check the caulking around openings and seams, then recaulked places that needed it. Once a year I would wash the roof with Krud Cutter and water and that's all I did in those 20 years to it. Never a problem with the roof and when I sold it, the person owning it now just cleans it once a year and the roof still looks good. I'm doing the same with my new trailer that I bought in 2014 and no issues with it so far.
