They came on my Rockwood 2707WS. I really like them. A strategy I use in storage lot, truck stops, etc is to pull in along the line on the driver side (without going over). That has always given me enough space to put the steps down. I’m pretty careful to try and park at the end also when I can to avoid the issue.

Any mods to them in terms of better mounting so they don’t rub the door frame?

I'm thinking of cutting mine and adding a second hinge. This will allow it to articulate so the door functions properly regardless of how much slope you are parked on.
As it is now, it's a poor design - it works well in a lab but not for real world conditions.

Thankfully I don't have those steps based on what I am reading. Sounds like a solution in search of a problem. The old adage: If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

You can count me among those who love these steps. I am new to RV'ing but I can't imagine why anyone would like those old ugly, folding rickety steps that have been so common in RV's for years. These new steps are so much more stable and easy to use. Glad my new rig comes standard with them or I was going to add them.

All this may work for you but it was broke so we did fix it. My DW has a bad back - she had a 3 entry point Rhyzotomy last Wednesday and she has problems with vertigo - will see the neurologist again tomorrow. It took much painful effort to step up onto and climb up our old diving board steps... made her back hurt and made her dizzier. Besides being thankful you don't have these steps, I'm sure you're thankful you can climb up and down your steps without help and pain.

I carry a bag of spare male threaded parts of that mount. They break regularly.

We went a different route for steps. Since I am disabled and my left leg is permanently encased in a walking cast, my wife was as concerned with step size as she was with stability. I point these out as an option for those who do not like the MorRyde approach.

Yes, they are!
You would not be able to deploy the Morryde steps here...

Not my fav either
If you weigh over 180 lbs or a little unsteady you will like the firmness of these steps the trade off is when you stop for a break; open the door back to the wall unlatch the stairs two hands required. Drop the stairs hope there is enough room to be able to close the screen if there are bugs or the door if you want privacy. Just wanted to get something in the coach, ok now reverse the procedure and you can leave. I’ve taken to throwing things over the steps and on to the bed. It’s easier.

X2 We purchased the Port-A-Deck steps for our last 5er, great people to work with also. We thought about putting the MorRyde steps on our Sabre when we ordered it but decided to stay with the Port-A-Deck. These are not quite as stiff as the MorRyde because they collapse down for travel but are more stable and are not as steep as standard factory steps. What is nice is you retain your factory steps so there's not an issue getting into the 5er if you're in close quarters.

In 2017 when looking at new 5ers I stayed far away from any 5er with the new steps and so glad for many reasons. Still, I'm only going on 71 with 2 bad legs and a back that was broke in 1968. I had to carpet them so the dogs would go up/down without assistance, both are small with short legs. I weigh only 220# so do not find them 'bouncy'. There is a big crab bar mounted on the side of the trailer too, Something new is usually better, but not always.

I thought all the steps shake , every camper I've ever owned the step always shake. It seems that the problem has something to do with the time of day. I notice it more first thing in the morning and late at night. DW says it's the beer.

The real problem I have with them is that I forgot to adjust them at our new campsite and when I closed the door, the bottom of the door snagged the step and bent the door a little. Crap!!!!! Now, I was able to straighten it out but it's still a bummer. Just have to remember lower them (retract the extendable legs) as far as they can go each time we set up.

So, in other words, as soon as you get past operator error, they’re pretty good?

You noticed that? Have you noticed, also, it’s always the same players doing the bashing?
It’s fun to watch and sometimes play along, though.
