Smile New Cedar Creek owner

New to this forum. Have purchased a new 2017 38CK expect to pick it up in a week or so. Have a couple of questions---How do you/I sanitize the fresh water tank, I notice the way to the fresh water tank is only through the water hose connection in the docking station. Not sure how one would introduce sanitizing chemicals through there. Also, for those that have this model, do you find you have plenty of space for dishes, pots and pans, etc.

Thanks for your comments in advance

I have the 36CKTS.
I don't know about sanitizing. I guess I trusted my immune system. LOL. I just started using it.......but I do always utilize an outside water filter.

As for room....we have tons of room (for an RV) in kitchen. The big kitchen is really why we opted for our model over the 34RL, etc........but we're longer. And you're even bigger than we are.......and the difference is that you have that big pantry to left of kitchen. Unless you demand a house sized kitchen, you have one of the biggest kitchen areas with cabinets and drawers, that they make. You should love it!

And welcome! Great folks here that know a lot (not me........LOL)....

Pour the bleach into your fresh water hose and then hook it up. That’s the way I do it.

The online manual says....

With an empty tank and all faucets and drains closed, pump into the tank, via the potable tank fill, either with a manual or electric water pump. Or pour 1/2 cup of bleach (1/4 cup per 15 gallons of capacity) into the hose before connecting it to the water source. The water source pressure will push the chlorine and water into the tank, making the correct solution when the fresh water tank is full.

I think you can use the hose that you winterize your camper with to sanitize your fresh water tank. I just ran the tank full a few times and then let the water out. I never drink the water in camper. I'm going to put a water softener in as soon as I get home, campground water is hard. Congratulations on your new camper. We have a Cedar Creek 32RL and almost no cabinet space. That's one of the reasons we want to look at a 34RL2. We want to install a washer/dryer and then we would lose most of our cabinet space. But from what I see with the bigger campers is lots of cabinet space, I think you will be fine.

There seems to be enough. Four drawers to the right of the stove, under the stove, the panty to the left, and if you did not get the dish washer there are drawers under the island. And if you still need space, use some of the space in the closet above the steps, especially if you did not get the washer/dryer. The only down side I see in this unit is you have to open the slide to use the bathroom, when on the road, otherwise I really like this unit. Well gotta go, time to pack for the FROG rally in Goshen, enjoy your 38CK

X2 - 1/4 cap bleach per 15 gal of water.

I assume that you are not new to camping, but rather just new to the Forum? Congrats on the Cedar Creek! Great choice.

I have a 2014 38CK. The key to storage is the pantry. It's got enough space for food and dishware. The hall closet is our overflow storage for kitchen ware not needed. Other than the residential fridge, the hall closet is why we bought the 38CK. In there we have a washer dryer combo and the rest is all aftermarket shelving for storage.

Pantry drawers need to be locked

Hay Sand38
I found that once you load the pantry drawers with supply's the weight of them in travel pounds the drawers against the pantry door knocking it off the hinges. Not good, door is just barely hanging there when you get to destination and twisting the hinges. SOLUTION!! lock drawers closed. See photo. position lock mark where cylinder makes contact with trim and drill hole for cylinder to go into
