New Member and New to RV
Good evening, First I want to say thank you to all that have posted. I have used these forums to research prior to buying my first RV. My wife and I have been tent camping for many years and we are now at the point we decided that it was time to get off the ground and enjoy the outdoors another way.
We are both in our late 50s and wanted to get ready for retirement. We just purchased a 2004 Cedar Creek 30RKBS. So we are going to start our journey and see where it leads us,
Any suggestions and advise you have would be welcome.

Welcome from the southern shore of Lake Ontario! That's quite a leap you made in equipment, tent to 5th wheel! Enjoy!

Welcome to the RV family. Retire as soon as you are financially able and hit the road. Life's too short to be working and not playing.

Congratulations on your RV, and welcome from Arkansas. My suggestion is start your trips close to home if possible, that will give you a chance to check out everything, and decide what you need to take with you, and what you can leave home. Good luck, happy camping :-)

Buy Robin Williams movie RV. Watch 6 times to learn what not to do.
Then Upgrade your batteries, the faucets, light bulbs, add some do hickeys inside all the spaces behind doors. Then buy generator, portable dump tank, portable water tank. Then go overnight camping. When you get home sell generator, portable tanks on eBay, figure out the fridge, heater and thermostat. Finally take everything out and put it on the garage, move out to the camper in your driveway and camp a few nights. Every time you need something get it out of the garage or house. When you are done have a garage sale with what is left. You are ready to take your RV vacation

Welcome to the forum.
Now start a savings plan for your next unit.
As an example my DW(dear wife) and I got back into RV'ing in 2007, when we bought a used 5er. We are now on our third unit in eight years and our second truck to pull them with.
Also start a travel log for your keepskake and a photo book to look back on of your journeys.
Jim

Welcome to RV'ing. Glad you decided to do it before you retired. My wife & I started RV'ing 25 years before we retired, and have been doing it 20 years since we retired. Wow, that's 45 years total. Since you are new to RV'ing, join a local RV club, Good Sam or Brand sponsored. Learn from the other members, plus you will make a lot of new friends and become part of an RV family.
Good luck.

The first "Rule Of RV'ing" someone shared with me is this: "If you want to screw up your RV, just get in a hurry."
Enjoy the ride,
