New Tires

Has anyone tried the Carlisle 235/85R16/G CSL16. I was looking at the Goodyear G614 and found the Carlisle.

There seem to be many brands i that tire spec. There are also sailun, west lake, Hercules, and a couple others I don’t recall right now. Our trailer came with Goodyear g614s which I have now replaced with hercules h901. One thing I found out is the g614 are truck rated ties with a load capacity of 3750 lbs. the others in the same size that are ST rated trailer tires all have a load capacity of 4400 lbs.

I can’t say one brand is better than another. But I get the impression that all of these tires are built for heavy trailers and they seem to perform similarly. I just don’t see people posting about failures of these tires. But this is just my opinion and not based on experience.

I’ve read a lot of trailer tire posts and opinions and the top 3 for the most part are Goodyear Endurance, Maxxis and Carlisle.

Goodyear Endurance might be hard to find depending on the size you’re looking for, many are on back order.
