Yep. Honda EU3000is is goods it gets for 1 rooftop. Better with an easy start kit.
Running an AC with less will likely damage both AC and genset.

In my camping group there are a couple of folks who have installed the Soft Start on their 15k A/C and experimented with a single 2000k generator.
Yes, it will start and run the 15k and the TV, but not much else. If the battery is low and the converter goes into bulk mode while the compressor is running, it may overload the generator or least cause the TV and receiver to blink off.
And when the compressor is on, the generator is screaming regardless.
I love my two 2000s which I run in parallel when needing A/C. I run them both in eco mode and they are not at high rpm, so noise level is minimal.
And when not running the A/C, I just run one generator.
So yes, other advice is right on. A minimum of 3k. 3500 or more is even better. Even with a Soft Start.

Kipor was the first true low priced challenger to Honda and Yamaha, 15 years ago. But hardly anyone sells them anymore and there are much cheaper alternatives to even the Kipor. Like Champion and the HF Predator.

Can anybody else on this forum post that they can do this???
Yes, I installed the micro air soft starts on my 15k and 13.5k units and I can run both, lights and residential fridge on a 30a breaker with no issues.

good info to know about the 30A... probably not every 30A pedestal will do this I bet... often old breakers get weak and trip at way less than 30A

that clarifies the 30A pedestal issue, but that poster, 4garylee also said he did this with his 2200 genset, which does NOT sound like reality to me

I have never tried running on a generator (I do have 1 of the small generator inverter units, but it has never even had gas in it), always try to get FHU sites or at least water and electric, so I could not vouch for that. Nice if it does work though.

Just be sure to shut it off before using the microwave.

I have a power monitor in my TT that shows how many amps my 120 v system is drawing from the input as well as wattage.

When my 13,500 bty AC is running it draws a steady 11-12 amps. With soft start it draws 15-16 amps but since the meter is digital it may not be capturing the actual peak.

For ONE A/C unit that's just under 2,000 watts to start (maybe more) and just under 1500 watts running.

I'm with you, to run TWO A/C's on a 2200 watt generator does stretch the imagination. Unless the generator has a "fairy dust injector" on it.

As for running the TV, that's possible as most TV's today don't draw much more than 50 watts.
