Power cord and finding a solution to install a bike rack

The weight on the power cord on my Forest River 2016 Cedar Creek is making the wall connection lose. I have seen new Forest River power cords that come out and go down vs straight. Does anybody know where I can get one?

Also have seen Forest River 5th wheel like my Cedar Creek have a trailer hitch on the back by adding a plate or something under it so it can have a hitch. I have search and cannot find that. Anybody know where I can get that?

lots of cords that hang straight down 50 or 30amp?

if your cord is a bit loose .... use a pair of pliers to gently bend a couple of the prongs

Go slow don't bend them a lot !

more than likely they were stiff and someone bent them wiggling the plug up and down

I’m assuming you have a bumper. Get this kit. Do not add the hitch receiver without using the bumper brackets. I carry 2 eBikes on mine and have clocked over 10K miles with no issues.

I use this and just leave it on my cord.

I will second the use of the camco 90° accessory.

It has worked very well for me in taking off all of the strain between the straight line connector and the cord itself, which had begun to show signs of separation after several years of use.

My 5th wheel does not have a bumper! Hence the problem.

Welcome to the forum where you can get questions answered.

(FYI - You don't mention what model your 2106 CC is in your post or profile.)

I have a 2018 36ck2 CC that came with a 1 1/4" hitch on it, even though I had requested a 2". The 1 1/4" is not conducive to using the proper RV bike rack on it, so I had Amish Family RV (Topeka, IN) swap it out for a 2" hitch. CC to my understanding has been installing the 2" hitch for a couple of years now. I believe they still specific that the hitch is not to be used for towing, only as a carrier like bikes.

I would think a reputable RV shop or welding shop could determine if it is feasible/possible to add one to your unit.

Good luck and be safe -

Go to SmartPlug.com Best plug on the market. https://smartplug.com/wp-content/upl...ss-150x150.jpg

Made the change on my trailer when I first brought it home. No fiddling with lining up plug, secure connection. Can plug in with your eyes closed and it will be secure and solid connections. Pricey, but well worth it.

I purchased a ladder mounted bike rack for two lightweight bikes such as a 10 or 12 speed road bike. I would not hang a heavy bike or bikes from the ladder mounted rack. E-trailer sells the ladder mounted bike rack. This may work for you.

X2. We've had ours for years, but I do wish they made some sort of a 90 deg plug or adapter.

with an 8' bed pickup, I used to carry 3 bikes by pulling the front wheel, and locking them down to a 2x4 that was C clamped to my hitch rails in bed of truck using 3 of these.

Bike bracket

I had them on an angle so the handlebars were turned so they would not hit, than store the front wheel between the bikes

used this solution for over 20 years, moved it from truck to truck
