Power recliners

I do not like my electrically operated recliners, especially when the AC power goes out. Has anyone bypassed the power converter and run them from the 12v battery system on a permanent basis?

From your post it would seem to me the recliners are on an AC 110V circuit. If they were 12V and the AC power goes out they should still run off the batteries the same way your lights or furnace does. Is there something I'm missing here?

Just buy a small UPS like this one. https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-...2483301&sr=8-4

I've read that some of those power recliners use a 120V power cord into a AC/DC converter brick and then the DC cables goes into the chair. If this is true for your chairs, you should be able to get a DC/DC converter to do the same thing from the 12V DC power system in the trailer.

In the one I recall, the chair actually ran off of 18V DC. You would just need to get a DC Boost converter which will convert 12V DC to 18V DC at the needed current rating. Read the specifications from the power brick on your chairs, if so equipped.

Just wire up an inverter that automatically kicks in. It'll give you boondocking flexibility, too.
