Refrigerator compressor backordered since July 2020
We own a Cedar Creek 34ik with a Insignia Model # NS-RFD21SS7 refrigerator that uses a Midea 11101020001222 compressor. Mobile appliance repair company diagnosed that the compressor needs replaced and as we have an extended warranty they contacted the extended warranty company that then approved the claim. However, we have been waiting on the part to be shipped from the parts supplier, Encompass, since July and latest communication from them is that the part will not be available until February. This is the fifth or sixth time the part shipment date has been pushed back to Encompass from the manufacturer based in China.
The extended warranty company has expressed that as the part is still showing as being available, albeit on extended warranty, they will allow us to purchase a new refrigerator but will only pay the cost of the repair and not the cost of the new refrigerator and installation. This adds I estimate $1 to 2K to our share. I have also heard, but have not verified, that RV residential refrigerators are in short supply. I have not investigated this.
Anybody else running into trouble getting replacement parts? Any suggestions?
