Silverback BLACK

Have issue that will potentially be covered under 2 yr warranty BUT want to fix ie ONE time.

My black tank handle was hard to pull push. Tank was not draining properly.
Used sprayer system, little help. Put some ice cubes and dawn in toilet and it all melted and flushed out very nicely. I bought a clear extension so I saw debris and finally clear flow.

Issue: when I close the handle, seems to not seal properly. Now every time I travel at all, I have the nadty surprise of 2 gallons of raw sewage to capture with a plastic bucket and dispose of.
Not good.......comments please.

Sounds like you (or the dealer) need to disassemble, clean out, and re-assemble the black tank gate valve. Plastic from assembly and/or toilet paper are jamming the gate valve. I think I have read to replace the rubber gaskets when you do this, as they may be compromised and it is a low-$$ and easy thing to do while it is all apart.
Good luck and stay clean!

In order to not get your feet flushed with the nasty stuff put an end of line valve on your sewer hose connection on your rig. That way you have a valve that you can open after you connect your sewer hose. I had a black water valve go bad and had to use the end of line valve instead of the black water valve.Twist-on Valve - Valterra T58 - Sewer Fittings & Adapters - Camping World

I guess I assumed (you know what that does) that he was talking about the end of line valve. Agree one can help, but in terms of warranty, IMHO he still needs to go to the dealer go have the black tank valve repaired.

There are two rubber seals on either side of the blade on any of your dump valves. Sometmes something gets caught while closing and deforms/tears the seal. I'm too far away from a dealer for a 1hr job, so I had the factory send me a new valve. After flushing the tank several times, drop the belly pan and remove the 4 bolts holding the gate part of the valve together and slide it out. Slide the new gate in using a putty knife to keep the seals in place and reinstall the bolts, Attach the cable, replace the belly pan, and you're done.

Don't let them put the end valve in, our former dealer did that and the cable finally broke. Get it fixed right under warranty.
