Slide light switch

I have to admit, I am puzzled as he!!.

On my main slide, there is a switch on the wall that I assumed went to the lights on the slide. It does on my other trailer. However, the lights work whether the switch is on or off. So, I assumed the switch was bad. I got a new switch and disconnected the wires and still have lights.

There are two white wires connected in the wall (neutrals right?) And one yellow wire to the top and one on the bottom. Standard switch configuration right? So now the two yellows are not connected at all. Still have power.

Could this switch possibly go to something else?
I am totally stumped.
Help please.

this is a guess but check and see if it lights an outside light on the slide or a receptacle on the wall of the slide. just a WAG on my part

There are no outside lights on the slide and there are no outlets on the slide.
