Spray port problem

Hello all!

I de-winterized my 2022 Cedar Creek 345IK on the weekend and have one problem I cannot solve. I cannot connect the blue coiled hose to the cold water spray port on the door side of the trailer. It connects and works fine with the hot/cold water quick connect faucet in the docking station.

On the door side, I can push the quick connect in but when I push the hose in it does not go in all the way. I can see the flanges on the port itself retract so the hose can get in but I can't push the hose in far enough for it to hold.

Any ideas on what might be preventing the hose from going all the way in?

Thanks in advance!

The only way I can connect mine (also a 2022 345IK) is to relieve the pressure in the water system. I "think" I could push it hard enough to couple it without relieving the pressure but I'm afraid when doing so, I'll break the plastic port housing it is mounted to.

It connects/disconnects fine at the wet bay faucet because there are knobs there to turn off flow/pressure. If I turn on the knob and try to connect/disconnect there I have the same issue.

They simply don't do well under pressure.

I did release the water pressure. I was connected to "city water" but I shut it off and did turn a faucet on after I shut the water off.

I see there is a replacement quick connect valve, perhaps I need this?

Perhaps... I didn't look to see how it is plumbed on the back.
Are you still under warranty?
Perhaps they will send you one?

Unfortunately out of warranty. I have a call into D&W Inc which I believe is Valterra. I may also call eTrailer where I saw the quick connect valve replacement.

I heard from D&W and was told to get a screwdriver and a hammer. Put the screwdriver into the port, stand off to the side of the port, and start hitting the screwdriver with the hammer like you are starting a nail into a piece of wood. Hit the screwdriver harder each time and the valve will release.

I did this and it released after 3 hits!

They said it is a fairly common issue they have with the ports.

I had to do the exact same thing to ours this year! I was fairly frustrated not being able to get it to engage easily. Hopefully I can remember this for next spring!

I had the same issue the first time I tried it. I relieved the pressure and popped the valve with a Phillips screwdriver and smacked it with my hand to pop it open. Not a problem after that.
