Steps problem on Silver back

We recently bought a 2013 33RL Silverback and have only had to deploy the steps a few times.
These are the 4 step , fold into the space beneath the threshold type.

The steps are a real problem to fold up for storage..
I've greased and checked the mechanism but don't see what's causing the difficulty with folding up the steps. They will unfold just fine.

The prior owner said he thinks there is a certain procedure that has to be followed but he can't remember what that is (?)

Is anyone aware of this issue and a remedy?

I installed Torklift on my last camper , might have to see if they make steps for this camper if I can't fix the problem

Thanks

We have a 4 stepper on ours with the rug covers on each step. You have to make sure as you fold up each step that it is completely seated (push down firmly) on the face of the next step up otherwise it won't glide into the compartment under your door sill.

On our 4 step we have to remove the cover on the 1st step each time we fold them for it to fold up.

You say they unfold OK is the problem folding them up or sliding them up into place once folded?

The first couple steps fold ok, then everything acts as one unit and won't go up into place under the threshold

Thanks for your response

Spray dry lube on the side slots and slide pins made ours slide up into place easily.

Thanks,
But like I mentioned in my post, I've lubed everything already

My buddies steps wouldn't slide into place very easily after he ran over a stump and bent them... Just saying
Have you tried removing the step covers and giving it a try? If you have lubed everything, nothing is bent, and the covers don't affect anyrhing, it has to be in a bind at some point. Trick is to find it.

Solution found to my steps issue...

I completely removed the steps from my camper looking for misalignment or bent parts.

I then tightened everything, lubed everything (again) and reassembled onto the camper.

Now everything is working smooth as silk.

I can't say exactly what fixed the problem but the important thing is ...it's fine now.

Hope this is of some help to anyone with the same problem.

Happy Camping folks!!
