Washed my 2007 Jayco for 9 years, always using Dish Soap first, because it took off the black streaks faster than any other product I tried...that was for removing black streaks. I would then use wash and wax to finish it up. It still shined the day I sold it in April of this year.
Soaps are basically the same Surfactant across the board. Automotive will add some waxes or such, but it's still the same surfactant.
