Take a close look inside at the hole you pictured. Use a mirror and light or your cell phone and take a photo of what's inside the hole.
If there's a 90 deg fitting and hose going somewhere it's doing something.
If there's no connection on the backside then it's a boo boo as previously mentioned.

If it's a boo boo covered by a worker, customer service won't know anything about it.
If that's your only issue, time to move on. Enjoy your rig!
