Whirlpool Microwave for Hathaway Edition

Somehow I got a power surge hooked up to my 50 amp in my driveway. House lights did not flicker, my Portable EMS shows no error codes, but my bedroom clock and microwave got fried. No breakers or fuses blown.

So, I need to get a replacement Whirlpool microwave. Any suggestions were I can order one?

Steven, I looked up the Whirlpool Microwave that we both have in our rigs. Whirlpool Model #WMH31017 available at Lowes, Home Depot, Amazon.

It just seems odd that no fuses were blown, I know this is a stupid question on me but did you try the microwave on another outlet.

I tested the outlet on both microwave and clock. Both now work. Took clock in house to plug in there, it is dead. Took unit to Custom Coach, who does my maintenance and they verified microwave is dead.

It seems odd to me, also, that we were not in the RV at the time, and how could it be a power surge with no reading on portable EMS, or fuses blown.

I think I would call the company. My unit has always stopped spikes in electricity.

Surge

It could be your surge suppressor has taken hits in the past and is no longer functional, some units have an indicator to tell you the surge suppressor board needs to be replaced.

Progressive EMS

Steven,
Call Progressive Industries Customer Service. I had a problem with mine and they sent me the required parts to fix it.

I lost my microwave in my Georgetown to a low voltage condition. I took it to a repair center thinking I had a surge issue that my PI Surge Protector had failed to stop and the repair guy said was low voltage.

Go figure.

Ditto, Call Progressive Industries Customer Service. Sounds like a defective surge protector. I use my protector at home too!

The Progressive Industries EMS I had for the first year and a half failed a few months ago, and Progressive Industries replaced it. I am not sure I have a surge protector problem, as it is hooked up to my house power, and nothing flickered in the house. When the previous protector went bad, I got a message on the protector to replace it.

Sent you the required parts for the protector or the microwave?

I called PI and, unfortunately, my unit only protects against high voltage, I.e., surges not low voltage. Wish I had known that when I bought the thing.
