2004 Coachmen Aurora Gold?

We are first-time RVers looking at a 37 foot 2004 Coachmen Aurora Gold with about 35K miles. Would appreciate any observations from current or previous owners of this model, particularly any compelling reasons NOT to purchase this coach. We had a quick visit the other day and the coach is immaculate -- but I am always reminded that beauty is only skin deep.

Thanks!!

I would take a hard look in every cabinet inside with a flashlight in search of water damage ALL of them, the same for any outside storage areas.

Look under it for any cracked welds, look on top for any cracked sealant and vent covers.

Is the engine area greasy smelling?
Look at the coolant is it oily looking?
Does the transmission oil smell burnt?
Is the engine oil milky or black looking(look at the bottom of the fill plug)?
Is the exhaust tip oily?

Hard to give model specific feedback without a model number and chassis type.
Generally, units 10+ years old are either worn out or rotted from lack of use. Either way, you will be nickel & dimed to death. The ACV of a typical '04 run of the mill coach is about $15k-20k. A dealer will probably not even give you that much for it.
It's your $. Enjoy

Edit: BTW, some parks will not let you in due to age of unit.

Hmmm. NADA on this unit is in the 40K range and the seller is asking under 30K. 35K miles on a 10-year-old coach equates to 3,500 miles per year. Not exactly gathering dust, eh? I am planning on a professional inspection.

I am still interested in hearing any specific issues relative to this vintage Coachmen or, even better, about the 37 foot Aurora Gold on the workhorse chassis.
