2020 Coachmen

Buying a new 2020 Coachman Prism on Sprinter Chassis and ran vin# and it shows Sprinter is a 2017. Checked several other units and seems to be common. Anything I should do like oil change other maintenance etc.

It is not unusual for the chassis to have a different Mfg date then the coach plus many times the chassis is Mfg in a different country as the coach is made in.

Would you think an oil change or any other service would be a good idea?

If you mean change the oil now because of the chassis date I would say no follow the Mfg suggested maintenance in the chassis manual.

As was said different years is common between chassis and the MH build. With a 3 year difference in the chassis mfg date and coach. I would also be concerned about the age of tires. It may be necessary to replace them sooner than expected.

This could be a problem but I really don’t think so, manufacturer’s buy chassis a year ahead of building them out. Make sure you get the paper work for changed in your chassis warranty. I forgot what it’s called but they start over on it as the build date. If you ever need parts you still have to use the Chassis’s date. Let’s say it’s a 2017 chassis but it’s a 2020 new coach, the parts you would need would be for a 2017 chassis. Normally this is done, but make sure the Chassis manufacture has the correct date for your warranty. The oil should be fine, it was only sitting there in there lot, but oils cheap change it if it makes you more comfortable. Congrats on your new unit safe travels

It tells you they ordered more chassis than orders received or units sold. Usually, there is only a one year discrepancy. Since they are stored outside taking weather incidents, I would replace the tires based on the tires age shown on the sidewall, not based on the unit sold as a 2020.
