319mb Furrion Solar connector

My 2019 319mb has a Furrion solar connector near my entry Door. I’m considering using a solar suitcase for a supplemental charging alternative but... I’m not sure if I need a charge controller installed and if so where can I put it since I can’t seem to find any reliable wiring diagrams.
I’m looking for some reliable info on what I need to buy to accomplish this charging scenario and where to install the wiring etc. I know this seams rather vague but I believe I’m not the first to try this and am looking for ideas. TIA

Thanks

Apparently no one has put the furrion connector to use. I'm surprised that they would put a solar connector on the rig and not have any documentation as to how to use it.

I’ve used the one on my Freelander. It’s wired into the inverter to only charge the coach battery(s) so if you’re on shore power it’s of no use.

I have a Freelander 20cb and use a Renogy portable unit that I added the mating connector to. On the 20CB, the whole solar prep is a Furrion connector and a fuse and wire running to the house battery. I think the fuse is 10amp and there is no controller. I bought matching connectors on-line somewhere (don't remember where now). Added one to my Winnebago too for trickle charging the batteries from the panel.
