Atwood Furnace Return air & ducting

Doing a bunch of checking and maintenance on 2130QB Freelander.

Noticed the return air seems to be restricted by the furnace body.
Is this what Atwood intended? or should the knock-outs be open?

Also discovered duct work restrictions and

I can't find the specs for unrestricted return air opening for Atwood 8520. But maybe that was the "Coachmen Fix" to balance the restricted duct work.

I guess I really shouldn't complain. I ended up with a 1/2 full can of paint left rolling around under the bath floor by the workers in Elkhart

I grew up in Akron Tireman. Grandfather worked at Goodyear, so did first father in law. My dad worked at Firestone for a few years. In those days the tire plants were pumping out tires all day long, three shifts. I doubt there is a single manufacturing plant (tires) operating in Akron anymore. I was west side, went to Buchtel.

Goodyear and Bridgestone/Firestone both make race tires in Akron but to my knowledge no other tires are.
