Carport height?
I am considering installing a metal carport on my existing concrete pad and saving the $100 a month RV storage fee. Any idea how tall it should be? The RV is a 32ft Coachmen Leprechaun. The specs for the RV are 11'1" but does that include the AC? I was hoping someone had installed one and can offer pointers in terms of size, clearance, etc...
Thanks

I do not have one, but my parents have three... I'd go bigger than what you have... You never know if you move to an A for instance you will need more height. 13' 6" is the max allowed on the road so consider 14'?

14' is actually what I was considering but didn't know if it was too much room. I had not thought about the upgrade to an A, great point. Honestly, since I've owned the B for three years now, I wish I would have bought an A to start with. Thanks for the quick reply.

I do not think it was more than a few 100 to go a bit bigger. If you do not want the extra head space, just enclose it up high to keep the sun off.

GO BIG!! You will be happier with the 14 foot also if possible allow width to be able to open slides under cover. I made that mistake and had to do a redo, save money get it right the first time and not worry about it.

My local place just came out and expanded ours. The pricing was no different than if we had done that from the beginning (surprised).
We got 10' sides and in the center, we have at least 3' of clearance from our air conditioner.
Definitely a money saver over storage, plus I can play in it whenever I want! Ours has already paid us about $2k in profit after just 3 years.

Another plus to having it at the house. I've been wanting to hang a TV in the bedroom and never do because of the hassle to go pick it up. I'd also like to install some maxair vent covers which is more likely to get done if it's at home.

Go taller, resale value is huge for a little bit more money if someone wants to buy the place and has a taller RV.

Any ideas of what the lifespan of these metal carports are? Mines only 3, but the color has a bit of sun fade. I'm hoping 20 years?

15 years so far on 2 of 3... 3rd collapsed under snow load. They still look good.
