coachmen concord wheel bearings

I just joined this forum today so hope I am posting in the right place.
I have a 2016 Coachmen Concord I bought new last year. The user manual is almost worthless; to general to be of much use and seems to apply more to 5th wheels. In the recommended maintenance section it states the rear wheel bearings should be re-packed at each oil change. The Motorhome is on an Ford E450 chassis so I take it to a Ford large truck dealer to have the oil changed and they tell me that it should not be necessary to repack the bearings. I thought most newer motorhomes used sealed bearings but the manual has confused me. Anyone know the answer?

Never heard of needing to re-pack wheel bearings that often.

Me either... I have run a bunch of heavy Ford trucks over the years, I don't remember doing the wheel bearings more than every 50,000 miles or so unless there was an issue. I do know that on the heavier trucks the rear wheel bearings are oil bath.

According to my owner's manual (you should have one for the chassis from Ford) you should repack the front wheel bearings (and replace seals) at 30,000 miles and change the rear end fluid at 50,000 miles.

My 2017 Leprechaun on an E450 chassis' manual states to replace wheel bearings grease every 60,000. Thus, I don't understand who gave you the advise you shared with us.

It's a full floating axle.
The bearings are oil fed.

A full floating axle, the weight of the vehicle is supported by the axle housing. Not the axle shaft.

The bearings are oiled by the diff fluid and do not need to be greased. ( after first installation)
