Did I damage my ice maker?

I have a residential Whirlpool refrigerator with an ice maker in my Coachmen Encounter. It has been in storage with power applied for the last couple of months and when I went to winterize it I noticed that I had left the refrigerator ice maker on with no water connected to it. I was able to run pink stuff through the water dispenser but the ice maker didn't try to fill. Has anybody done this before, and what was the outcome?

If it is residential it will be fine. If there is no water it isn't a problem. The pump will cycle but that's about it. Make sure the wire bale is down and if you have antifreeze in the line you should be ok.

Most refrigerator ice makers aren't smart enough to know if anything is missing(the older ones anyway.) They are on time/temperature only.. if you have electric, water and cold..you get ice. The freezer has to be cold alot of times for the ice to fill, defroster to work, etc... If it isn't cold it may not fill. If it doesn't work... turn off breaker for a bit and restart. It will prolly reset itself

Thanks for the replies. It sounds like it is OK, but I will know for sure in a couple of weeks when I dewintwerize it and head to Florida for a couple of weeks. Hope you guys are right about no damage. Thanks. By the way, if you try to pump 'pink stuff" through the water dispenser make sure your fridge filter is bypassed or you will never get any pink to come out. I must have pumped over a gallon before I realized that the filter was still in. It turned pink as soon as I put the bypass plug in.
