extended service contracts
I am wanting to purchase an extended service contract for my Mirada motorhome. Can somebody recommend one. I've heard that the Good Sam one isn't any good!

I had a good experience and a declined claim from Good Sam Extended Service Plan. A mobile tech and RV repair shop all talked highly of it (neither were selling it). The declined claim was expected and part of the exclusions.
I looked at Wholesale Warranties and will likely purchase with them this time around just solely from a cost perspective.

Extended Warranties are usually just "Extra Profit" for the Dealer (commission" and big revenue for the Warranty Company that underwrites them.
I just set aside extra money to deal with any issues that arise after the Mfr's warranty is up. The key is to be extra diligent during warranty period and get any issue that you notice handled, or at least "on the record". Be extra critical of noises or things you just don't feel are right. They may be signs of bigger things to come but often after initial warranty period.
Many people find that more things are excluded in these warranties than are covered. After all, the companies who underwrite are not really in the business of being benevolent, they're in it to make money. If they have to pay money out, less profit.

If you do a Search, you’ll find several threads including posts I’ve made. I can’t speak for others who may/may not have actual experiences, may/may not post what they’ve merely heard. I paid $1800 cash for a 5-year XtraRide extended service contract. It paid out $4200 in two large repairs - including new A/C unit, complete axle replacement, water pump, etc., and an R&R of the metal frame around my pin box. Last claim was approved a few days before the contract expired and paid out a few days after expiration! My repairs were not done where I bought the trailer.

On my second ExtraRide extended warranty (second unit). Very happy. Shop around. Price is negotiable.

That's the way I roll. All these extended warranties, tire insurance, etc can add up. Whatever they say the cost of the warranty is, have the discipline to put that money aside in your own separate account, maybe even a bit more. That will mostly or entirely pay for most stuff that goes wrong. And if nothing 'goes wrong' you still have the money put aside for maintenance, replacement due to wear and tear, or even to put towards your next vehicle/RV.

The two most mentioned on the R/V forums seem to be Good Sam and XtraRide.
I have zero experience with either, just what I have read/heard over the years.
If you are not able to do work yourself, (and not everyone can) extended warranties can be helpful, especially on the road.
Setting aside money and/or a good working relationship with your dealer seems to be the next best thing.
