Since the light has it's own 'on/off' switch, it only makes sense that this is the switch for the 12v Water Pump, when you don't have 'city water' and want to draw water into the RV from the Fresh Water tank.
Now, since this an 'external' switch, it's possible, and LIKELY, that you also have a Water Pump switch INSIDE the RV, near the kitchen or in the bathroom.
It makes sense that you would want a switch in both locations since you have an 'outside shower', and you have inside faucets and a shower and a toilet, which all require water. While many of us other owners DON'T have an external Water Pump switch, we've all realized that it's really convenient to have one, rather than having to 'remember' to turn it on from the inside, when you want the 'outside shower' to work on the water pump, or having to 'holler!' to someone inside to turn it on.
I need one for my coach!
