First weekend out

We are heading out for our maiden voyage this weekend. We are only going 30 miles away but I'm a little nervous since we are expecting high winds with gusts to 50 MPH. Guess we won't be putting up awning.

Any our recommendations for the trip?

Thanks!

You'll be fine. Keep a sense of humor handy.....

Make a checklist and add to it as you discover things you forgot to take.

Do a walkaround after you 'land' to make certain you've hooked up and again as you leave to make sure you've unhooked and packed up everything. ( We usually walk around twice to make certain we haven't missed anything.

To 50 mph gusts would postpone my trip! With gusts that strong it would blow you rig all over the road! You don’t mention what RV you have but that much wind would even blow the biggest RVs around! My previous RV was a 40’ diesel pusher, very heavy, and 50 mpg winds would really affect keeping it within the lane. I wouldn’t even think about driving my 27’ Leprechaun in that type of wind. If stationary I would pull my slides in with that much wind. Stay Safe!

x2 walkarounds are like taking ornaments off the Christmas tree, every year I find one when I'm taking the tree down after we've 'removed' all the ornaments.
Have fun!
