Freelander Chassis Electrical issues
We are the second owners of this 27QB, and right after we bought it, we started to have issues starting it.
It was really intermittent until one day, it wasn't. The check engine light would not come on and it would not even try to start. No clicking, no other noises from the starter. Only noises were from relays somewhere in the engine compartment.
Took it to my local Chevy dealer and of course, it started just fine. Later, when it happened, I could 'trick' it by mucking with the gear shift. Until that didn't work either.
Second trip to dealer, they replaced the starter (I had already replaced the battery). Worked great...until it didn't.
Had to be towed to same dealer and this time, it would start then stop then not start but check engine light would come on. Relief at finally having the issue right in front of the dealer.
Solution: corroded fuse block in the engine compartment. It's of the wheelwell wall right side as you look in the engine. Replacement has been working like a champ.
Sorry for the lengthy post but I wanted to detail all the indicators. Hopefully, I'm the only one who's had this problem...but if not, here where to have your service people look.
