Hidden fuses on e450 class C

I found 2 hidden fuses under the driver side door step. On our 2017 311FS Class C on E450 chassis. I emailed Jason Johnson at Coachmen to find out what they are for, and here is his response.

They are 5 amp fuses. One is for your heated mirrors and the other one is for the house battery charge while driving down the road… If your house battery is not charging off the alternator while driving this fuse is normally blown….

So why were you looking in that area? Does the fascia piece come off easily?

At some point during every day you suddenly realize nothing else productive is going to happen the rest of that day. For me, it usually occurs around 9 am.

I was installing our dash camera and was hardwiring into the fuse box in the engine compartment. So I was removing the side kick panel around the emergency brake. The plastic panel over the step on mine just lifts right up, so it's real easy to remove.

Thanks. That’s good info to know.

What a silly idea to «hide» fuses under doorstep !

Fuses are a safety devices and should be at get-at-able location. Desing ?

I'll have a peek at my RV.

Does anyone know where the fuses are for the two maxxair fans in my leprechaun? I'm at my wits end. neither unit has power to them, and they were working fine. I have to believe its a fuse or circuit breaker. Any help would be appreciated.

Check crimped wire terminals too. I changed out 2 light switches to dimmer switches and had 3 wires the crimped terminal just fell off. Now my awning is acting up grabbed a bunch of wires under the dinette and it started working again. So I'm sure I'll find the same problem.
