Hot water heater bypass access panel replacement

Anyone have suggestions on replacing the access panel to my hot water heater by pass valves. Every time I have to remove it, it seems to have expanded in its place. It is made of cheap particle wood. 2015 Leprechaun 319

I have a Coachmen trailer so likely similar. I removed that panel and had a door panel custom made to overlap the opening and this door is on hinges. I stained the door to the shade of the surrounding wood/vinyl.

I have installed one of these plumbing access panels to gain fast access to the back of the water heater: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They come in various sizes, and they can be painted to match your cabinets. Just a thought.

Just do a better job of picking the correct stain color. I messed a few shades.
