Leveling System Issues

I have a 2015 Coachman Sport Coach. We bought it used in December 2023. I’ve had issues with the leveling system since our first time taking it out. We auto leveled on a sand bottom site (We Live in FL so common) and when we went to leave after two days, the rear passenger side Jack wouldn’t come up. I opened the valves and eventually got the Jack up and drove home. When I got home, I realized the stuck Jack had become bent. I was very surprised it was bent from our trip but it definitely was so I had it replaced. Now when I used the auto leveling feature all the jacks fully extend and lift the coach abnormally high and it doesn’t seem to work properly. Manual mode doesn’t respond properly either. When I press the front jacks, they push down unit they touch the ground then the back jacks come down as well and the coach keeps extending all jacks together. The tech I hired to replace the Jack doesn’t seem to understand how to trouble shoot it and I don’t want to pay him to change parts hoping it will fix the problem. I’m really frustrated as I’ve only used the coach once when it worked properly. Need some guidance if anyone knows what might be going on. I used to be an AC tech so I’n fairly decent at troubleshooting but don’t know how these systems work and there is so much info online that I’m a bit overwhelmed.

How do I determine if this is an electrical issue or hydraulic issue? I have hydraulic oil leaking from the valve area but I can’t tell which valve or if it’s just access oil from being overfilled. (I topped the system off under the recommendation of the dealer but think I overfilled it) I was told by Lippert that the valves could have been over tightened and should be replaced but I didn’t crank on them or torque them hard so I’m not sure. The leveling system is a Lippert Motorized Leveling Plus with 4 Jacks.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’ve attached a picture of the VIN and Touch Panel

Moved thread from the General Tech and Repair section to the Coachmen Motorhomes sub-forum for better help from other Sport Coach owners and possible factory support.

I had a Forest River and had AUTO LEVELING problems. Not saying you did anything wrong. But when leveling you need to LET the air out of you shocks to lower the RV as low as you can get down, before lowering the JACKS.

Now, It seems your AUTO LEVELING is not set correctly", and you can fix this. I learned on my AUTO LEVELING PUSH BUTTONS two had to be pushed. But first, you must find a level parking lot somewhere. Let the air out of your air shocks and this will lower you down.

Now. setting on a level parking lot with air dumped from air shocks. NOTE two BUTTOMS need to be pressed at the same time for about 10-sec. Sadly I have no idea which two you need to push and hold for 10-sec.

When you touch the right two buttons this is what will happen and you should let the AUTO JACKS do their thing. They will auto DOWN and support the RV and then will auto retrack back into PLACE. At this point your RV leveling Jacks have been reset. Jacks should now be factory reset the way they should be. Now looking at your controller buttons. TURN on and push auto, the jacks should go down and lift RV just a bit, and that's IT you have reset your JACKS. The hard part if finding which of the two buttons will auto RESET. GOOD LUCK.

I tried to local your owner's manual, Not sure if you have GAS or Diesel.

This link will help you find your leveling jacks.
2015 Coachman Sport Coach

Here is some information to help you with this forum.
There is a lot to this Forum as you have HELPS, USER CP, (which you should complete as much info as you are willing to share. This will help others help you faster and make friends) In the MAIN MENU "FORUMS" Slowly pan down the long lists to find your RV and join that group as that will be the experts on your RV who can share tips, ideas, as well as places to visit to make your adventures last a lifetime.

You can also go to the Forest River website and find your MAKE and Model RV and at the very bottom in BLACK on your LEFT you will find "OWNERS MANUEL" and download it to an SD card or chip in the event you want to review something more closely on your NEW RV.

Thanks. Yes, I have the Coachman owner’s manual from this site but it’s different from the one installed on my Coach. I found the one I have on the Lippert site. I will check out the HELPS & USER CP
