Looking to replace side cameras with directional light

I have no use for the side cameras on my Leprechaun 310BH. By the time the picture comes up on the monitor i have already changed lanes and i hate that the radio cuts out when the blinker is activated.

This coach has no side lighting/side blinker to alert an idiot (other motorist) in my blind spot that i wish to change lanes. Has anyone removed the cameras and replaced them with a side directional signal?

Love to hear your thoughts...

I'm not going to be much help, and I do understand your desire, BUT I'm curious how many blinks does it take before the camera displays on the monitor?

I wonder how you would get turn signal power to the camera?
Do the cameras stay powered all the time when traveling and the monitor just switch to the appropriate one, or does the controller send power to them when you activate a turn signal?

I’d be curious as to how long the cameras take to come on. The turn signals are to alert other drivers of your intention, are you giving them proper time to notify others? I see lots of people turn theirs on as they are moving to the lane. Almost as if they hit the turn signal while turning the wheel.

Not looking to debate my driving style, There is a lag between blinker and camera. As a long time driver I am looking in my mirror and find it useless to look back at the center of my vehicle to check the monitor. Nice idea but not realistic.

I will probably just jump the front blinker wires and add a light. Just wondering if someone else has already done it.

If someone is in your blind spot, having a blinking light is not going to clear it. I'd get better mirrors and look before I move to another lane.

On ours, the power goes to the camera when the turn indicator is activated, so not powered all the time.

Would think that you must first unplug the camera from the monitor head, remove the outside plastic housing, unscrew the camera body and pull it out from the outside. Find a light that you can mount and wire it in parallel to your front blinker. Repeat on other side.
