2017 Prism 2150LE

We have traveled about 10,000 miles so far this year. No real issues with the chassis or the house. Average fuel economy is in the high 13s. Tailgating season is in full swing.

New Prism

Just bought a 2018 24EG. Has anyone added solar panel and if so, how did that go?

I added 200 watts of solar on the roof of my 2016 Prism 2150 LE. Ran the wires down the refrigerator vent. Mounted the controller on the basement bulkhead below the bed, and connected to the large-conductor 12-volt line in the converter. I am very pleased with the solar charge addition to the Mobile Palace. It keeps my batteries properly charged and is a huge benefit when boon-docking.

Prism mpg

I have a 2018 Prism 2200. Best mpg is 14 so far with 10k miles using the chassis auto mpg calculator. How does that compare to others? Will the mpg improve with more miles on the engine?

My 2200 consistently gets 12.8 to 13.6 MPG. When first getting on the road it's pretty low in MPG but soon gets up there. I don't always use the cruise to get that better mileage. I get it even on a short trip of 10-20 miles (without lights).

Do you calculate the mpg or use the chassis auto calculator?

We typically get 14+ mpg when towing the Sonic and 16ish if not towing - as long as we don't have a headwind. The worst we have done is 12.8. The best 17.2. I usually set cruise on 60-62. I am not aware of any auto mpg calculator.

I suspect the G model that doesn't have the front overhang is a little more aerodynamic and also weighs a bit less.

The last time I weighed I was 1000lbs (14250 with car/dolly) under GCWR and about 50 lbs (10980) under GVWR.

Prism MPG

My 2016 Prism 2150 LE with about 20,000 miles average is 15.4 MPG. Trip driving averages vary between 14 to 17 MPG affected by terrain, conditions, and foot weight. Driving into a headwind seems worse than mountain driving with open-highway flatland's producing the best MPG. I am generally a light-footed driver staying in the 55 to 60 MPH range, often using cruise control. I manually calculate mileage between fill-ups, don't know my loaded weight, and don't tow.

Quick question

I have the exact same rig. Got a crappy initial inspection. Can you tell me where the low point water drains are?

The low point drains are inside the are inside the rear compartment behind a round cover that twists off. The cover is clearly marked on mine.

Well, how many times did I see that before? Ugh. Thanks for pointing out my glaring oversight! Going to sit in the corner now.
