Bobgeri,
Great Jeep and snow driving pics, at least you could see where the road was, went through about the same thing between Colorado and home in Missoula, Mt. It got so bad going down Bozeman Hill that we just stayed a certain distance off the guard rail which we could still see at about 15 mph. The Towed vehicle looked like an ice ball when we stopped. I was really glad to get off the road in Bozeman. These little motorhomes have really good traction with all that weight over the drivers, never slipped at all but it is nice to see where you are going. Keep on having fun!
I heard Bozeman got hit really hard. It did get worse but it was so bad we didn't film it. The trucks coming at us threw slush so bad I thought the windshield was going to break. I have some photos from the wife's camera I will try to post up tomorrow.
Your mileage is amazing but you have the streamlined front and I have the cabover Prism which is not streamlined at all. You are getting at least 2-3 mpg better than I am. Do you have the 3 liter engine and the 5 speed? I heard there might be a newer engine and a 7 speed in the works. I usually drive about 65. Thanks for the pictures, those were great.
Got the microwave remounted at Tom Johnson Camping World in Marion NC. 375 bucks. They said it was only held in on one side by 4 staples. They installed it with L brackets and screws this time. Great service. The aftermarket warranty we bought refused payment. Said it was a mfg defect not a repair. Oh well. Another thing to deal with. The counter has a big chip in it and the stove surround is bent. But the microwave still works and we are still able to haul the Murphy bed out by hand. So it's on with the trip. Tomorrow we go to the Biltmore mansion.
We broke 5000 miles yesterday. Everything is working great. Coachmen is going to help fix the problems. They have been really great to work with.
The first picture is at the USMC museum in Quantico. That's what I did in Nam and it was one of our model choppers. The second one is us loafing along at 65 with the road torn up. This little coach surprises me every day. It really flys. And handles the cross winds well. Parked next to a 37 Super C today. Coach envy anyone.
If I ever get another unit, (I'm 67), it will be a Super C, Haulmark flavor with either a Class 8 Volvo or Freightliner cab, twin screw with at least a 500 horse diesel and instead of an automatic, I'll spec a 13 speed Roadranger or 15 speed with deep reduction for tight spots.
That would be a serious rig. We got home yesterday. Drove straight thru from Fort Bliss Texas to LA. 825 miles. We hit horrible 25+ mph head winds the whole way. Fuel economy drooped into the low 13's. But i still think this little thing is pretty tough.
