Remove radio in 2017 coachmen freelander

I want to add attachment for Sirius Radio to Jensen radio in my 2017 Coachman Freelander. The dash cover pulls away simply enough but do I have to disconnect all the wires? Also how do you get the cover which goes around both sides to the steering column?

You have an audio input (AUx) on that radio I think. Why not get a Sirius radio that sits on the dash and plugs into the Aux input and leave the radio alone.

It is a lot of work. You may want to look in Crutchfield web page for instructions.

Depending on the under lying chassis it might require a tool, like the ford's do. Looks like a bent coat hanger or just might need some more of the dash removed. I second Crutchfield or YouTube for the info. Just search your chasis make and model, ie e450

Remove radio in 2017 coachmen freelander

Does your Jensen radio indicate it is SiriusXM "ready"? If it does there will be a connection somewhere on it.
I have a 2013 Freelander on the Chevy chassis. I removed the Jensen radio (FYI, replaced it with a Kenwood). The Jensen radio unit came with two L shaped metal tools about 3" long and 1/4" wide used to release the radio from the dash after the face plate was removed. Look in your manuals for the one for the radio. Removal is explained there. Hopefully the tools are with the manual. Easy access if you find the tools.

Search the forum for Sirius or SiriusXM. There are several with pictures and recommendations for installing the antenna without penetrating the roof. I have one or two and have responded to a couple. These existing threads should help you.

Since it is "SiriusXM Ready" you will need the component I pictured under the dash. They are $30, Chrutchfield sells it for $60. It comes with the pig tail that goes to the radio and mine came with a 20' coax cable (I needed most of it) & antenna square. I ran cable from the ceiling vent, across the ceiling, down the cab over wall (in surface mounted cable chase) to the bunk flooring, then around bunk corners (also in chase) until I reached the drivers door frame trim to hide it under, and finally under the dash to the component connection.
Search in Tech Talk forums for more SiriusXM posts.

Malgar1951,
You should not have to remove the wires if you have the L tool.
