Roof vents DANGER

Well went on roof today to clean ,But what a surprise . All 3 vents were broke.
Not hail or wind ,rain damage they just fell apart. Crumble like dry leaves to the light touch. New 2018 311fs Leprechaun eight moths old. Not Happy.
Ya warranty ,But change my self before any rains to come. Put on lids with 5 year warranty. PLEASE CHECK YOURS.

You might consider putting something like Maxxair vent covers over your replacement vents they not only protect from sun but allow you to keep the vents open when it raining.

X2

All the vents on our 5er have the MaxxAir II vent covers installed at the factory. It’s a must have for me.

We lost a vent to hail and took the opportunity to install Maxxair covers over all of the vents. Since they're not flat on top they seem a little more resistent to damage and we enjoy being able to have the vents open when it's raining.

They all go wrong unless you install some covers. That is what I did on mine.

X3- Have not found a vent cover that doesn't crack.

As mentioned, MaxAir or some other vent cover is the only real solution I've come across. Takes a limb or large object to damage those compare to the brittleness of the vent covers. I've seen baseballs hit them without damage. I know because it was my camper and I got on the roof to make sure it wasn't damaged.

2010 I replaced all the vents on our 2007 Jayco with UV resistant ones I found on eTrailer. Sold the Jayco in 2017 and all the vents were still soft and flexible.
