The Amazon Firestick is a great upgrade to an older TV as long as it has an open HDMI port.
As long as you can reach your TV's HDMI port, you can mount the Firestick anywhere on a HDMI extender cable, or a HDMI multiport switch. It also comes with a short HDMI extender cable.
I like the Firestick user interface so much, I added it to my other 'smart' TV so I don't have more than one login account (Samsung wants you to use their log-in to download apps), *and* I have a consistent home screen, *and* I don't have to relearn a different remote every time I go from set to set. Another thing I like, is the remote is a wireless RF transmitter so it doesn't even need to point at the receiver. All my other remotes are Infrared and have to point somewhere near or at the unit they control.
Note: Firestick remotes only communicate with the Firestick they were shipped with, so they will not interfere with another Firestick.
