Water pump cycles on....
Probably not a new question but here we go. 2018 Coachman Leprechaun and this trip for the first time the water pump occasionally turns on for a couple seconds. My first thought of coarse is a leak but I have checked everywhere and can t find anything. So my intelligent friends do you have any ideas?

Sometimes the leak is inside the pump. A check valve leaking and allowing water to flow back into the tank. No external leakage of water.

Agree with Woody...cure could be as simple as running your pump for a day or so instead of city water.....or replacing the pump....or adding a check valve to the intake.

Do you have an ice maker in the freezer? My pump will "burp cycle" during the overnight as it feeds the ice maker.

No we don't have an ice maker. No ice in beer LOL. Although DW might like one.

Could a shower be turned off on the wand instead of the hot and cold valves? Check toilet to be sure the flapper is fully closed other wise a small leak there is possible.

Just had this problem. Searched throughout the inside and could not find anything. Was outside and saw a wet spot, very small, beneath the low point drains. The hot side had a very slow drip. One per minute or less. Tighten the cap, no more water pump cycle. Should probably replace both caps now.

There should be a little rubber seal inside each cap. The seals can drop out, unnoticed, when you take the caps off.

Pump failure is rare. Shurflo pumps work very well. I have had sand get into the pump, and make it run almost continously. Easy to disassemble the pump and clean it. But, usually when you have that problem it is a leak.
