Water Pump Wont Turn Off?

Anybody else had this issue? We have a lighted switch for the water pump - turned it on no problem but when we turn the switch off it stays lit and pump still has power?
Switch issue? Pump issue?

Any help appreciated.

Light in switch is just to show switch position and not controlled by pump. I vote switch.

Sounds like a broken switch to me. If it wasn't turning off with the switch on I would think it was a leak. That happened to me when I left the gasket out of my water filter housing.

Without knowing what model, year, etc., of your unit is difficult to help you. What I know is that some units like mine has two switches. One inside in the normal panel and another outside where the hoses connect. When the outside is on, it overrides the inside one. I need to make sure that the outside is off in order to have control from the inside one. However, as I said, without having more information about your unit this might not apply to yours.

I agree with jonwisconsin. I bet the outside switch is on. I have done that a couple of times with mine.
