What's this water connection?
2018 Coachmen Leprechaun 311 FS.
On the driver's side of the RV, I find reasonably obvious, somewhat labelled water system stuff, as shown in the first picture. I still have questions about this, but that'll be another thread.
However, on the other side of the RV, I find a water hose connection without any labels or other hints as to what it is and what it does. I'm showing this in the second and third pictures. The second picture shows a close-up, complete with tons of road dirt, and rotated 90 degrees whether I like it or not. The third picture gives an idea of where the thing is.
Can anybody fill me in on this thing's purpose, function, etc.?

That actually looks like a propane quick disconnect.

NOT a water connection!
It is a low pressure (after regulator) LP (propane) Quick-Connect.
For things like LP fire pits, grills and griddles that have the regulator removed.

Aha! I went back out and cleaned the thing off and now it does indeed look like a propane connection. Thanks for the heads-up!

Our 2018 311fs does not have that propane connection. Our water connections on the driver side are labeled on the door & as others have said, are colored opposite of what would seem right. The black connection is for fresh water & the white is for the black tank flush.

Interesting - must be something the previous owners added. Thanks!

Yes, propane. The $64,000 question (for all you old folks) is, what on earth is it doing on the roadside? Who "lives" on the roadside of their rig?
As others suggested, perhaps a DIY install by a previous owner? Maybe their favorite site had a nice spot for a grill there...but definitely weird.
For your peace of mind, leak test it with soapy water spray when the house propane tanks are turned on and the propane system is pressurized. And, if you can get to the place this hose connects to the main black pipe or copper line, leak test it there, too. If it's a DIY job, you'd be wise to check their work.
Hopefully you have something similar somewhere on the curb side. If not, this kluge might have been added to make up for that oversight by the manufacturer. The good news is that you can connect to this spigot with a nice, long propane hose extension. This will reach under the rig and to a grill or griddle, etc.

The OP says this connection is on the curb side. Pic 1 is driver side. Pic 2, 3 are on “the other side” which is the curb side. What am I missing?

Yes, it is on the "curb side" if one wants to think of it that way. I think of it as the "passenger side". It's also the side the awning is on, so I think the original owner probably wanted a propane outlet over there for a grill.
Good idea to test it for any leakage. Thanks for the tip!
