With 6 kids I will bet you do have some stories! The kids moving out was a bit sad but about the time we got used to them being gone they came back. While not wishing to get older any faster, we are looking forward to having the freedom we haven't had for 25 years. We have a long list of places we want to take our camper to. Really look forward to meeting the other owners as well and seeing what they have done to their Aviators.

Wish I could. Mine is back in repair shop. Still having leak issues. Pretty fed up. I love my trailer but considering other means.

Oh NO! I am sorry to hear that. Really hoping to meet you and get a little Aviator Club going to do some camping with new friends. Does it leak when raining or when turning on the water. Where do you live? My guy in Florence , AL Jaime with Bankston Rv has done wonders with my Aviator. If you were close enough maybe he could help with yours. Getting it back next week after having a second AC added.

I was also going to suggest Loretta tries a different dealer as well. From how she has described it, I think her leak is from the plumbing behind the shower. There is a lot of fittings in the space between the back of the shower and behind the outside docking station panel. I eliminated many of the connections because of leaking fittings. I hope she gets it fixed!

I know, Lorretta try a different dealer. Kenhwy has a lot of knowledge about the Aviators. He has replaced all his fittings. The Aviator is so unique hate to see have to give it up.

Just an FYI for Aviator Wright-Flyer owners. I had my trailer weighed at my local CAT scale today. The weight on the two axles was 7320 loaded with most of what we take camping excluding food and clothes. All water and waste tanks empty. The tongue weight was 1340 with 2 full propane tanks and two batteries. These are definitely front-heavy campers probably from the weight of the thick glass front. Gross trailer weight was 8660.

That is interesting. Do you store a lot of stuff in the front storage compartment as well. Just read this to my husband. Told him we need to store more in the back compartments. Thanks for the update.

I actually don't store anything heavy in the front because it already heavy enough. Maybe they should of been really innovative and put the propane and batteries in the back of the trailer to offset the heavy glass!

We agree! We noticed no matter how we hitch it or load, it always seems tilted towards the hitch. But it sure does pull well.

New 2015 Aviators are out! The have kept the same basic shape but have painted them white, reduce the overall weight substantially and cut the msrp by 40K. The interior is completely different with the curved cabinets, fireplace, and entertainment center gone. There is no more outside storage and the slideout does not appear to go out as far as the original. I can't tell if they kept the fiberglass roof and even though it appears from the outside to have the giant front picture windows they are nowhere to be seen on the inside. There is no mention of them in the sales description either. Could they possibly be faux?! No mention of the new Aviator on FR website. Here is a link for those who are interested. 2015 Forest River Forest River Aviator 28bhs, Carthage MO - 114283235 - RVTrader.com

I like ours a whole lot more. The 2013 are much more elegant than this one. But I thought they were not building these any more.

I had heard also that they were going to produce a cheaper version so I guess this is it. It seems they took the upgraded components out but I am most curious about the windows. The amazing view is what makes an Aviator an Aviator! Looking at the photos it would seem they should be in the front bedroom but all you see is a wall and cabinets. The original Aviator model that has the front bedroom the glass makes up nearly the whole front wall with no overhead cabinets because the window extend up over the head of the bed. It would seem rather silly to make fake windows though.

I found out a little more about the 2015 Aviators. From what I could gather from the salesman was that they bought the three of them from Indiana as they are known for selling surplus RVs. There doesn't appear to be anymore other than these three. He told me he didn't think the front windows were real but wasn't sure if they were a decal or something else. He didn't know to much else. I suspect Forest River built these three as a way to use leftover Aviator bodies and no more will be coming out. So if you want to be REALLY unique you can own one of what may be the only Aviator bunkhouses ever made!

Hi everyone,
it's only taken us a year to take the plunge. We are super excited and have a Wright Flyer (silver) coming to us in about a week.
So, we are trying to decide on a sway control/weight distribution system... We have a 2012 F250. I have scoured the forums (pretty much every RV forum I can find). What do you use? What are your thoughts?
