2014 FR3 25DS Bed in Rear

I just bought a FR3, 25DS, 2014.
My wife and I had a lovely first trip; Yosemite, eastern Sierras. Everything seemed to work well.
I do have one question.
The rear bed, in the pull out, seems odd. When the pull out is fully extended, the mattress is too long for the plywood underneath. The foot of the mattress is hanging past with about 15 inches un-supported, very close to the wall between the bathroom and the bed.
Is this operator error?
The mattress has 2 short sections, and 2 long sections. Which section is at your head?
I also notice that if you flip the one short section up at your head, almost like a headboard, the bottom section is fully supported. However this does shorten the bed, which is problematic as I am 6' 1".
In any event, I hope you get the picture. Your help is appreciated.
Thank you.

Sounds like someone replace the mattress with the incorrect size. I own a 17 32DS and replace the mattress with a short king. The mattress is about 3 inches of overhang from the supporting base. I made from1/2 inches ply wood a wider base and that worked fine to support the mattress edge.

I bought my 25DS in 2014 as well. Came stock with a thin little foam “matress” upon seeing thr real matress they switched to in 15 or 16 i had my dealer order one up. Stuck a topper on it and its been great. Ws around 600-700 but it has the built in bend area for the slide when closed. Contact your dealer or Forest River to get one.
