2015 FR3 30DS interior light???

Hello!

Hope everyone is enjoying a fantastic summer camping season!

So I had two interior lights go out. After winning the battle to the covers off, I find there are no bulbs but LED strips, which sucks even more that they have burned out already. Anyway, these lights have their own freakin’ mother board to which the wires are soldered and also soldered to the light strip. Wtf? These things look like they are one system. This is my 3rd RV and I’ve never seen this before. Does one have to replace the entire component? Pretty wasteful, but it sure seems that way. Please see my photos... Any assistance would be appreciated.

Antone

the strip can be replaced but most folks don't want to go to the trouble of un-soldering then re-soldering the LED strip they just replace the unit.

I soldered in an additional soft light strip and added a toggle switch.

Where did you find the LED strips? Are they available on Amazon?

Thank you for responding. I’m going to replace with units with actual led bulbs. Found some on Amazon, just a bit larger length and width.

Hey Antone
We've got identical rigs with a lot of the same problems. I went the Amazon route and love the fixtures. A little bigger but with more light and more control, a 3 way toggle switch and the LED board snaps right out for replacement. Happy trails to you and yours.Click image for larger version

I have AutoEC LED Dome Light, 2 Color Mode 12V LED RV Ceiling Dome Light Fixture install in the front. You just turn off & on to change mode. I have more on the way. They are larger than the original lights.

I am also going to try MICTUNING 2 Pack 12V LED RV Ceiling Light Fixture, 2 Color Mode with Switch Double Dome Interior Replacement Lighting. They are half the price of above.

Well darn, Larry and rk. I wish I had checked back. I went onto Amazon with no recommendations, bought some that were from same maker and similar to the ones that were in our prior FR trailer, then the “LED” lights clearly packaged “LED” came with regular bulbs. I went back and ordered some LED replacement bulbs.

Well darn it Antone, you need to check back more often lol [emoji23].
Before I bought the 5 packs from Amazon, I had gone over to Dennis Dillon's by the house and had them order the original fixture that FR had used in our 30DS. I bought 2 and I got the 5 on Amazon for less than the price of two through Dillon's.
