2019 fr3 30ds cameras

Cameras work sometime. Sometime not.

More often than not just get a black screen from all 3 Cameras.

Of course when I need the backup cam its just black.

Any ideas?

Would the radio still switch to the camera mode?

I have the older setup in my FR3. Separate camera system from radio.
However if the RCA plugs are loose to the connection point, it could cause you to lose your picture on the monitor screen.

I have a similar problem in the same 2018 model. Recently the picture scrolls while turn signal or backup is on. Also, the Radio screen is in a terrible position to even see it.

My 2016 3010 DS didn't have a black screen it was a blue screen that said No Signal. I replaced the multiplexer and it seemed to work for a while but then went on the fritz again. I found a bad connection at the rear camera. It was a bear to get to. I had to take down the ceiling trim above the back window and fish the wire out of the wall. The gap wasn't big enough to get the connector through so I had to gently pry the inside wall construction so I could pull the connector out. I wrapped a piece of plastic tubing around the connector secured with tie wraps and padded it with 1/2 inch pipe wrap. Put it all back behind the trim and all has been good so far. As a side note, the manufacturer of the camera system advertises these connectors as aircraft quality. I wouldn't want to be in that aircraft.

Ours is black. No messages. None of them work or they all work. Very random

I installed a 7' monitor to turn on whenever the engine on. I used the RCA video cable going to the radio. It the shows rear view all the time except when the turn signal is on, then it show the left or right view. I have used it for a few months and love it.
This what I did a couple of years ago. I love it. I do not need to take my eyes off the road to see the rear view.

P.S. I am stopped on an empty road in drive with my foot on the brake.

I installed a 4 video input monitor that allows me to change the view and the cameras stay on all the time. I got the instructions from a forum user Griswards who posted the parts list and videos here: https://www.forestriverforums.com/fo...-a-181713.html

There is one change to the posted instruction and that is e-trailer sells the power adapter separately now so you have to purchase that as well.
Rear View Safety Female Power Cable
Item # RVS-RCA-P
