Descriptive Information: Vehicles with the 2020 V8 Ford Chassis receive a new wire harness with new wire colors. Using production records the manufacturing plant was able to identify all vehicles that were equipped with the 2020 V8 Ford Chassis. Other like vehicles use an entirely different harness.
FR3 F3A30DSF 2021 18
FR3 F3A32DSF 2021 10
FR3 F3A33DSF 2021 7
FR3 F3A34DSF 2021 27
Grand Total 62
Description of the Cause: New wire colors in the wiring harness led to the incorrect wire to be connected to the parking brake.
Chronology:
On 6/15/2020 During a test drive, the driver leaned on the jack extend button while vehicle was in drive and the leveling jacks began to deploy. The manufacturing plant began reviewing production data to determine vehicles affected.
On 6/19/2020 Forest River’s Corporate Recall Committee voted to recall.
I wonder if the leveling panel was turned off when that happened.
