Automatic Transfer Switch

I finally got tired of manually switching my shore power cord between the two 30 amp outlets in my FR3 30DS. Note: When I installed a 1,500 watt inverter, I added a 30 amp outlet in the same cabinet as the shore power cord. That 2nd 30 amp outlet runs to the inverter's 110v output. This allowed me to provide 110v power to all the FR3 outlets when on the inverter. I also installed a switch to turn off the converter so the power would not run in a circle. When it's cold in the am, it was a pain to go out and switch cords around when dry camping (which we do the most of). Our normal pattern is running on the inverter at night to watch TV and then in the morning a desire to run the generator.

So... I purchased two different GO Power Automated Transfer Switches (from Amazon)... (1) TS-30 and (2) GP-TS. If you have no inverter, you can use just the TS-30. With an inverter, I end up with 3 power sources: shore, generator or inverter. Adding the second switch (GP-TS) makes the choice of 3 power inputs work automatically! The GP-TS also shuts off the converter power so the power doesn't run in circles.

The TS-30 switches between shore power and generator power and then that selection feeds into the GP-TS. The GP-TS switches between power coming from the inverter or from the TS-30 (shore or generator).

I've attached several pics and a diagram
