Awning Damage

Freak storm caught us by surprise causing about 15” tear in fabric along attachment to Motor Home before we could close. Is this something you can repair, or do you replace? DIY or dealer or shop? We have a 2017 30DS. Google search wasn’t very helpful.

Our experience is that tears along either attachment seam are hard to repair with tape and don't seem to last long.

We have replaced three over the last 20 years or so. The last two we just ordered the fabric and did it ourselves. The last one was on our current rig after a blowout actually tore up the rolled up awning pretty good. Not too hard to replace yourself, just takes two people.

Thanks. Did you order from Forest River?

No, the last on we ordered from Camping World when on sale, the ones before that we ordered from a local RV dealer with a great parts dept.

The good thing about ordering it yourself is you can pick any color or design you like. We are big NASCAR fans so the last one was black and white checkered
