Awning Led Light Strip Replacement

Afternoon,

So this is my summer of problems, not many and not big.

So I went to turn on the outside light strip and only half of it is working. It seems that the light strip is in two pieces and not one full strip. When I touch the separation point the other half of the strip comes on until i remove my finger.

Has anyone had this issue and is there a repair for it. If not , how difficult is it to replace the light strip.

Thank you,
Ed

Easy to replace. Check out Boogey Lights. Great quality and they are easy to install. They are also fun to play with. Lots of special effects and color options.

It's pretty easy. First buy a new light strip of your choice. Remove the old strip. Cut the wires but don't leave them short. Connect the new lightstrip to make sure it works. Then clean the area where the old light strip was, wipe it down with alcohol wipes and let it dry. Then put the new strip on starting at the end that is connected to the wires.

Sounds simple enough, my main question was about connecting the power wires. But I guess what you said, splice at the top end of the awning and re attach?
