That explains then why I could have missed one of the breakers... I am not electrically inept by any stretch of the imagination.... I'm usually surprised by the lights coming on in my house.... but they come on every time...

this then adds to my confusion (no surprise there)... how did I loose power inside my coach when I unplugged the cord and surge protector at the source of the shore power?

in order to regain 12V, I had to activate that switch (disconnect/connect) located by the steps... over the 5 years of ownership, it was the first time I've experienced a complete loss of 12V until I hit that switch.... and now that it's almost a two months ago, I don't remember which way I clicked the switch....

I guess I'll just have to see if I can re-create the scenario.... then see what's up...

2014 FR30DS and am having a slightly different problem. I turned off shore power and then turned off the 12V disconnect. The steps immediately retracted. I took picture of the battery connections. I disconnected everything and popped the caps off the batteries and added distilled water to the cells that were low. Re-connected everything, matches the picture taken. Everything works except the steps. They are stuck in and won't budge. Batteries show good with no shore power. Tried the steps with the engine running and it's a no go. Tried on shore power, still a no go. Any help would be appreciated.

Solved my stupidity problem. I had a huge speaker magnet on my steps, close to the screen door switch. Move the magnet away and the problem is solved.
