Can you manually lower a single jack

Is there a way to just manually lower a single jack?

Sometime in a not very level area you can’t get all jacks down without lifting front off the ground, because of operating in pairs.
So you might get level but one jack is not on the ground.
Is there a way to lower just the one to touching ground?

Not a good idea. You would warp the frame.
  • Two on one side-->Good
  • Two in front-->Good
  • Two in back-->Good
  • Two diagonally-->BAD
  • Any one-->BAD

I have three on the ground and all tires on the ground. Just one is not on the ground….want to lower it to touch the ground.

If I go to “rear” then it throws off level and have raise front again.

Something is wrong. We see our LCI jacks come down and the first one to hit the ground stops moving until the other one of the pair also touches the ground.

Are you by chance lowering the side jacks before the front jacks? We never do that. We'll reposition to avoid that.

Think maybe what I did wrong is manually going rear and just stopping when I feel it hit ground, that was probably only one jack hitting.

So right now front two are down and only rear right is on ground.
I assume this is fine for one night?

We do front until the front lifts a few inches or gets to level, rear until the rear lifts a few inches, and then a side.

What I've noticed is that if I do not lift the rear enough, then lifting a side occasionally causes one rear jack to come an inch or so off the ground. This is on concrete. What I'll do is go back to Manual and just tap Rear until I hear the pump run. That drops the jack all the way.

We have one person outside watching as the jacks go down every time and that person calls out when to stop the Manual process.

I don’t know how the FR3 jacks work, but the Lippert jacks on my Sunseeker are independent rear jacks and paired front jacks. I can independently lower the rear jacks to level side to side and front to back. I can lower the front jacks to level front to back only, as they are plumbed together so fluid can shift from one to the other. The reason it’s done this way, I assume, is so I can’t twist the truck frame.

I have camped with the front pair down and only one rear jack carrying weight, but since the front act as a pair I wasn’t twisting the motorhome.

I don’t know if that is helpful, because again, this may or may not apply to FR3 jacks

When you hit Left or Right on ours it moves the front and rear jacks as a pair on that side. So the pair that move depends on which button you push.

Correct. See what NXR said. You may find it occasionally necessary to block one jack when the pad is quite unlevel

How does Auto level mode perform?

Excerpt from manual if Manual Mode is used:

8. Turn power off to leveling system by pushing ON/OFF button.
9. Visually inspect all jacks to ensure all shoes are touching ground.
Should one of the rear jack shoes not be touching the ground, press the
corresponding LEFT or RIGHT rear jack buttons to lower the
corresponding jack to the ground.

I have never had this issue with my GT. Have no problem having the front tires off the ground.

Some thoughts:
  • Front wheels off the ground is not an issue.
  • Rear wheels off the ground is an issue.
  • We’ve bent the frame and destroyed a jack when we didn’t notice a jack hadn’t properly lowered. That was a very expensive and time-consuming repair.
  • 4x4’s and leveling blocks are inexpensive solutions to uneven sites.
