Coaxial Cable Splitter

I have a 2017 Forest River FR3 and can’t find the cable tv splitter. I tore apart the bedroom and tried to trace from the shore cable connection, but I just cannot find that darn splitter. This unit has 3 tv’s so I know there has to be a splitter somewhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is no connection to the bedroom tv. The reason was somebody was looking at some movie in the bedroom and it was also playing on the outside tv. So the bedroom you will have to set up a separate player.

I have looked for a cable splitter as well in our FR3 with no luck. Anyone know where it is at?

Mine is above the fridge with the power injector for Roof TV antenna.

I would look behind the amplifier. I’ve had several Forest River campers and they were all behind that. We have a 19 FR3 32DS and the splitter was behind the panel that the amplifier is mounted on. Sadly you will likely have to tear things apart a little to find it.

Where is the amplifier? And are you saying, there is a splitter to the bedroom?

The actual amplifier is in the antenna head on your roof. What you want to find is the power supply switch plate that sends power to the amplifier. It can be near the main tv or the bedroom tv. It has a small button that you push in to turn it on, there will be a LED that lights indicating it is on. When on it passes the ota signal from the antenna to the tv's. When off it passes the campground cable signal to the tv's. Attached below are some examples of the Winegard antenna switch plate. I don't have any pics for the King Jack antenna.

I think we’re a little off-track from what I was looking for. When you attach to a shoreline coaxial cable it is connected to an input in the outside cabinet where the power supply cord is located. What I need to know is where the coaxial cable splitter off that main input is located. I had a service representative from a cable company come out to address signal issues and he said the problem with RV’s is most manufacturers use cheap splitters that aren’t rated for today’s cable frequencies and therefore it’s necessary to replace the splitter with a higher rated splitter. That all sounds well and fine and shouldn’t be a problem, unless you can’t find the splitter. Even the cable guy helped me look for a bit and we just vouldn’t Find it. I’m still looking for any information I can get in locating that splitter. My rig is a 2017 Forest River FR3 29DS. Thanks for all the replies and I hope someone has had this same issue and found a way to resolve the problem, probably by locating that darn splitter. Thanks Again!!

Yes and I apologize that I wasn't clear earlier. In all of my Forest River campers (including motorhomes) I've had to remove that wall plate (or even the decorative wall itself in our new FR3) to uncover the splitter used. It's usually right behind that mounted to the wall or whatever is close. The problem you will run into is that splitter typically has the external coax cable that's run to your outside jack split to the inside tv's. I have re-configured all of mine to have a direct run to the satellite receiver inside then output to the house tv's.

Something else about the switch plate that many don't know is it contains 1 or 2 splitters in it's circuitry. Components 220 and 230 in the attached diagram.

Hey everyone the search is over.... found the coaxial splitter today and all of the great posts/input really helped. It was at the end of the storage cabinet above the dining table. There was a panel back there which led up from where the roof antenna/amplifier lead out near the main TV (see attached photo). I might have also thwarted off a potentially devastating problem. During my search I just happened to remove the cover that leads under the shower and WOW there was a pool of standing water under there. Just so happens one of the plumbing joints for the shower drain trap was completely loosened, probably due to movement and vibration, because i’m just sure it wouldn’t have left the factory like that. I sopped up the water and tightened the plumbing joints, ran some water in the shower, and it looks good so far. I can’t imagine if I hadn’t found that when I did, it could have rotted the floor joists or caused a sever mold problem, could have been major.

Don't be surprised if replacing that splitter doesn't solve your issues. I've seen far more loose connections, wires through coax, poorly terminated RF connector installations and things simply unhooked than I've seen splitters that won't pass today's cable frequencies.

Good catch finding the water leak though. That could have been disastrous.
